Vavle cover bolt snapped HELP
Man, I was tightening the vavle cover bolt to 40tq and I did not even get close to that much and it snapped. What should I do? Half the bolt is still in the threads.

I bought a extractor from Autozone. It comes with bits and extractors. ~$20 for the whole kit.
Just do a search on Autozone.com for extractor.
You may want to use a tap so the bit drills in the middle of the bolt.

Sh*t - I had bad luck doing mine and now you're going through some BS too...

Can you believe that mine is still all dismantled - hopefully the gaskets show up tomorrow and I'll put things back together.

Just kidding. I'm in the Western burbs (Naperville, Downers Grove, etc.).

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you don't put that bolt in, won't oil seep out of the bolt hole? I mean you have the grommet in there, but you still need the bolt to close the hole...

You don't have enough thread visible to get a pair of vise-grips around them huh?

That will probably work. I'm wondering, is the oil in the valve cover under any pressure? Or just is just slosh around because of the cams? Just wondering how much work the seals are doing to begin with.
I know you had a leak there before, where was it leaking from? Did you find that your old gasket had cracked?

Ehh it was leaking in the rear, the oil would run down the headers onto the ypipe and control arm. So far no leaks and car runs pretty smooth. Good think I put it together quickly, it is raining now.

I took the IM off. I can take out the IM in about 10-15minutes and I can put it back together in 20. I would finished earlier but one of coil packs was not in all the way and I did not know it so the car ran like **** and I didnt know why.
Damn!
look for a thread tomorrow AM titled "I need help putting my IM back on"
I'm serious!
So you put the sealent on the corners and around that sheared bolt... how long did you wait for the sealent to set before starting the car?
Did you assemble the valve cover/gasket while the sealent was still "un-set" - I think thats what you are supposed to do.

You put the sealant in the gasket groove on the vavle cover, then install the gasket on top of it. I put a little bit in all 4 corners so I knew the gasket would not fall out when I put it on the head. I waited about 20-30min for it to set before I attempted to install.
like everyone said, screw extractor:
