The new mitsubushi Eclipse has MIVEC i know what it stands for but is it worthy for tuning. I know that the FTO's had them but i dunno what should you guys expect?

the Mitsu MIVEC engines were also used in the 3000GTs also, the MIVEC engine is special because it has a variable intake, im not sure what else it has though

MIVEC is actually just Mitsu's version of variable valve timing.

Varible valve timing... so what its not really to big of a deal tho. I mean honda was the first with the famous Vtec and then everyone else wanted a peice of it. and started to make their over versions. I really don't think much of it. Nothing to go crazy over.

Exactly. We already have a nice DOHC setup, to add variable valve timing to that wouldn't exactly help much. A little, but not a lot. The only real reason I can see manufacturers doing it now is I think possibly for gas mileage. Correct me if I'm wrong though...
