Big Problem, Help!!! 0209

On my way to work this morning, just an hr ago, turned on my car, started driving for about 20mins, when i came to a red light, my car just turned off.
I started back up, then it would just die again. I had to step on the gas, and even then, it wouldn't stay alive until i started driving again.

-On the freeway, just cruisin', my car started to feel like it wanted to die again. (Sudden loss of power)
-after exiting, when holding in 2nd gear going about 30mph, car just turned off.
-got to work, checked for codes, i got 0209 (Fuel INJ sys left bank:rich)

--What can i do to fix this? Is it a job to be done by a mechanic or a do it yourself job?

I Need help asap, before i have to go back home. thanx guys.

**Edit** I just added budget ypipe 2 weeks ago. Can this be causing the problem?

Dang.......that sux man. Many years ago, the water* pump on my older car suddenly died on me on my way to work. Green stuff all over the place! It's such a big fiasco having your car crap on you on your way to work.

Is it still driveable? Can you make it to an Autozone and have them scan the ECU? If that confirms the Fuel INJ sys code, then its time for a new injector. Drive your car straight home after that. I had an IROQ-Z once, the same thing happened, but the fuel pump crapped out. These symptoms you've described seems like fuel delivery issues. You just have to find out where in the system the problem is coming from. Hope you get this resolved quick.

Wait, I just looked it up in my Chiltons. Check these first:

1) Intake air leak
2) Front oxygen sensor
3) Exhaust gas leak
4) Incorrect fuel pressure
5) Mass airflow sensor
6) Lack of fuel <---- hilarious but true.

My money is on the fuel pressure. You could buy one of those gauges that connect after the fuel filter for like $40... that way you could monitor the pressure.

Still waiting on the flywheel. I ordered that thing on 4-15 and the said the back order would not take more than 2 weeks!! Every week for the past 2 months I have been calling them and I get the same answer ... one time they even told me it had shipped from fidanza and was on the way to their warehouse. That was several weeks ago .

I canceled my order with summit on Monday and ordered one from CE. They said that they were out as well and that it would take about 2 weeks to get it in. I feel a repeat about to occur! I wonder if Fidanza even makes flywheels for this car any more.

Maybe I should say screw fidanza and order a stillen which I can have in three days!!

That blows. I hate to be dragged along like that. That lighter flywheel will sure change the driveability of your car.

Yeah, I have thought about it... but if I dont put one in now I will always wonder what if... and then I would end up putting it anyways. I suppose if I really dont like it, I could just take a weekend and pull the tranny and put a stock one in.
