Need DESPERATE help!

THis has been the worst two weeks of my life!! I had sap all over my car and my shop teacher gave me a rubbing compound to take off the sap. Well the compound took off the sap and my paint. The compound has scratched, taken off paint it seems, and dulled spots on my car. WIthin a few days my windshield wipers stopped working. Yesterday my exhaust went. MY cat is shot and my b-pip rattles and my car sounds like a hick as camaro. I dont have the money to fix it all. I"m gunna try and save for teh warpspeed catback, but as far as teh wipers and paint goes any help would be much appreciated!!!! thanx!

Didn't you post the problem with your paint about a week ago. The solution is simple: get your shop teacher to pay for the damage incurred by his stupid suggestion.

Get your priorities straight and forget about the Warpspeed catback until you can afford it.

Take the car to a reputable auto detailer. Perhaps they can restore the paint.

Yikes, that sucks! The only thing I could suggest for you paint is to try using a clay bar and see if it helps at all. It's probably too serious if it looks like that compound took off paint, but you could always see if it works.

Show your teacher what happened, although you might want to be careful if you're demanding he pay for it because of course he gets to decide your mark!

Even if your car is sounding crappy, as long as you can drive with those broken parts and you aren't causing more damage to your car, then I would just put up with it for now...at least you have a car to drive! I'm no mechanic though, so talk to one about it.

Hope you get it all worked out!

I'd get the wiper motor replaced and the exhaust fixed first.

New wiper motor from a dealer will run about $250.
See if you can find a local junkyard that has one for $40-60.

Check here: http://car-part.com/noninterchange.htm

As for the Cat and B-pipe. Just take it to a few local shops for estimates.

I think www.paradox-systems.com sells paint touch up kits for around $50 which includes sandpaper, primer, paint, and clear coat in 10oz spray cans. Might be just enough to fix those spots.

What the hell were you thinking trusting your shop teacher on removing sap from the paint?? There are things available that can remove sap, bugs, and road tar, that are designed for auto paint.

Since you didn't take our advice last time, just get a shotgun and put the poor car out of its misery.

You can buy the product at any automotive outlet on the face of the earth!
Try Wal Mart or any store with an automotive section. You can probably buy it in the dinky automotive section of a decent sized grocery store.

Or you could always take some good old WD40 and spray it on. That removes tar like crazy. I've never tried it on bugs. I'm sure it would be as effective on sap as it is on tar.
