Complete Crap? "Leather-like custom seat covers" $69

UPDATE: I asked them to send me pics of the backs fo the seats - they are a really cheap looking stretchy fabric! So basically, they look good from the front, but will look super cheap around the sides and back!!!

Oh well, I guess if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. Plus no one knows how long these things will last or if the fitment is actually as good as they claim...

------------------------------------------------------------------
Does anyone know anything about these? I'd love to get a leather kit but $500 is too much for me to spend on such a luxury. Also, ten hours of installation doesn't appeal to me right now (crazy busy with grad school).

My car has factory leather seats, but the front seats looks like shiit. All of the vinyl around the sides is peeling off and you can see the yellow foam underneath. The leather part held up well, but the peeling vinyl around the whole seat makes my car look like crap.

I'm not looking for these things to look like "real leather" just good fitment and clean-looking. Going for "clean" at this point.

Know anything?

I agree. But have you seen the feedback? There are about 2,000 people giving them A+++ for good fitment and nice looks. There are exactly 8 that say "okay" and only 3 or 4 that gave bad reviews.

One of the reviews was from someone with a 00 max. I sent him/her a message via ebay. I wonder if I'll get a response. That person gave a rave review.

Of course, most of these could be fake reviews from friends, family, employees at the company.

Right now I'm not buying. But if I knew someone who had bought and could show real pics, I'd be interested. Like I said, if they have good fitment and are clean looking I'd be satisfied.

Wow I wont lie, from the pictures they look great....nice tight fitment and what looks to be good quality. Not a bad price either...around 220 shipped for front and back seats. I want black leather in my car so bad...maybe this is the way to go??

How about you try a junk yard? You could probably pick up the front seats for $100/pair. Just a simple swap.

Good luck.

The leather seats on my 95 SE was the same. I got lucky enough and found an orger who'd trade his tan cloth for my tan leather seats....no extra cash payment. The only thing I don't like about my seats now is that it gets dirty easily, especially because it's tan. Getting in and out of it daily is leaving these black marks around the seat edges. So now I'm in the market for good fitting seat covers. I've looked everywhere and realized that there's only one brand that fits well, made of good materials, and water resistant....their Wet Okoles. For half the price of leather and ease of installation, its your best bet.

They're made out of the same matter used in wet suits.

BLACK/WHITE 1A7 TAILOR MADE LEATHERETTE is what my order was. the guy at the place spoke to me on the phone before i ordered, he confirmed which cover to get to match my stock seats. (not just color but what order code, seat size, etc)

Neoprene.
Man, now you can clean the inside of your car by hosing it down!

I still wouldn't hose my car seats down because of in-car electronics. But Neoprene is a good material because it resists sweat and many accidental spills.

I'm guessing that it might be pretty good to sit on for grip while taking corners and may not burn your butt on hot summer days.

True....that material doesn't transfer heat all that much so you won't burn your skin when it touches.

I'd shop around the ORG. I found a local guy who sold me his tan leather front and rear seats plus door panels for $300. All I had to do is give him my door panels.

It's very tough to find leather seats from a 95/96 that are in really good condition. There's no point in replacing my worn seats with seats that are only slightly less worn out. Seats from the 1999 model year are the newest, but still are 6 years old. Plus they have power on BOTH seats, and I only have power on the drivers seat. The passenger seat wouldn't be moveable w/o some electrical wireing. I'm not interested in that much work!

SEND PICS OF YOUR SEAT COVERS AND WHERE YOU GOT THEM!!! People have said they like their seat covers, if you could post pics or just email them to me that would be awesome. Email: Track.Smart[at]Gmail.com

Thanks for all of the feed back so far. I'd rather not be the guinea pig with these seat covers if other people already have some experience with other kinds that served them well.

$225 for neoprene is way beyond what I'd spend - and it won't even match my leather interior. Neoprene is great for waders and wetsuits, but not what I want to replace factory leather with. I'd rather go vinyl just because it will at least look leather-like. Neoprene looks like neoprene. But thanks for the suggestion. $100 is max i'd even consider paying for seat covers.

Yeah, guess I'll leave my seats as is or wait until I feel like splurging on real leather for $500+ dollars (plus it takes 10 hours of hard labor to install!!!)

I'D STILL LIKE TO SEE PICS OF INEXPENSIVE SEAT COVERS THAT PEOPLE OWN. FOR $20-40 it would at least cover things up for now...

*** Can anyone send pics of the seat covers they have on their car? It would be really helpful. ***

I'd like to see the higher end ones from AutoEnhance.com (Parallex?) They look great on the website, but it's hard to trust them when they are not installed in a Nissan Maxima like mine!

I'd also like to see the ultra cheapy Pep Boys model (Ethnic6?) just because someone seems to be extremely pleased with them. I want to find out why they are so pleased.
