I don't understand how this will help considering that there is already a real time diagnosis mode built into the ECU

Some people already know about it. To my knowledge you can't edit the ECU so it is not really worth it.

From what i see in my fsm is that this tool can do a lot. it is basicly an obd tool like an generic one that can tell you more. If anyone has an factory service manual you can see what i'm talking about. For the past 2 weeks i'm been sitting here reading the whole fsm. And i just came over the Nissan consult scan tool which i thought was cool.

things i can do for free. not worth it

NISSAN Consult is designed to perform 3 basic functions (as follows);
▫ display the status of the input and output signals read at the control unit (ECU)
▫ read the conclusions of the electronic systems Self Diagnostics (error log) and display the name of the failed circuit.
▫ instructs the control unit to modify signals of certain sensors and actuators, thereby changing operating conditions
to confirm diagnosis. (not available for all systems)
