Back light bulb for defrost button?

It seems that the light in the defrost switch is out. Not the small round orange indicator light that lets you know it's on, but the white light that illuminates the the defrost symbol.

I went to the dealership to see if they carried any replacement bulbs for it, but they said that the bulb was a part of the switch and I'd have to buy a replacement switch for $36 to get my desired illumination back. I told them to kiss my grits and was hoping that I could simply find some replacement bulbs at radio shack or something.

I don't want to LED my switches, just find some cheap replacement bulbs to get my illumination back (the vent piece looks out of balance with that one out)

any help with how, what and where I would could find these bulbs would be awesome.

Thanks

Check the stickies (How-to). In the lighting section there is a write-up on replacing that bulb (with an LED or bulb - your choice).

Look in the forsale section. I bet you could get a whole switch for like $10 shipped...

I was considering going the LED way, but it might be a bit too bright for my tastes. I'm just looking for a replacement bulb (s).

The how to in the stickies was a great help, most notably when I want to put that little sucker in there (thank you) but he wasn't real specific on the bulb (3mm/5mm led's, which I don't want)

Would anyone know the specifics of the bulb I'm looking for.

Thanks again.

Bump..

Perhaps I'll just take it apart, take the bulb somewhere, and go from there. I do believe it might be the perfect time to change the color of the clock and quiet down those rattles once and for all too...

I have an entire vent/dash unit that I ripped out of a salvage. I just needed the clock and vents so the defrost/hazard LEDs work fine. I'll send you the entire unit for like 15 shipped.

Thanks for the offer. If I can't find the bulbs I'm looking for, then I'll PM you to score the defrost switch from ya.
