Plats and iridium gives u a hotter spark...not by much and they last longer. i would stick to what plugs the max suggested which is plats, but if u choose copper that is cool too. but i believe u lose potency if u think have them for a year running hard. ppl with boost run 1 or 2 stps colder cuz of they are too hot with plats.

Sparkplugs, even though an easy task do not take 10 mins to do. The front cylinders I would imagine 5 mins at the quickest. The rear bank would take more than five mins. That could just be me though as I apply antiseize and take care with each one.

BTW I'm not saying I'm taking the 10min estimate deadly serious . . .

OEM NGK platinums are the only answer for me.

I agree with you completely. I think a lot of people take the actual time and divide it by a factor of 2-3. It took me 30 minutes to do all 6 plugs. That included checking the gaps, applying anti-seize, and torquing them down to spec. No point rushing such things - I would hate to end up cross-threading a plug or damaging a coil or connector.

Buy whatever makes YOU feel better and stop arguing about it - it's your Max so do whatever you want to it...

NGK Plats are recommended so buy them if you can afford them. NGK coppers are the alternative (and work perfectly fine) if you don't want to waste that much money on the plats

NGK is the recommended brand, but if other plugs work fine for you then great...

If anyone can prove to me that my Maxima will be faster or more fuel efficient with copper plugs I would gladly buy them.
But no, I will never stoop to buying Falkez Ziex 512s to save a few bucks, thank you very much.
The way I see it, you're just trying to bring up your post count. The proof is in the pudding when it comes to oil and plugs. Keep reading the info. Whether you want to believe it or not is up to you and this thread is done.
