Relaying a question from a .org member

I'm relaying a question from zzmasta06 since he doesn't have enough posts to start a thread, I'm going to ask his question for him.

zzmasta06: i took it to express tires and they looked at the alignment, and they said the right control arm is bent, and they said it needs a new lower right control arm, and also a Camber Kit. i dont know what is the camber kit do for the tire

so if anyone can answer this question for him, I"m sure he'd appreciate it.

thanks all

the camber kit is usually for cars taht are lowered. usually the camber kit is not needed for cars with stock suspesion. the camber kit is what makes the tire bend in or out. by bending in or out i mean by looking at the rim, the top of the rim is not sitting where the bottom rim is sitting at. that rim is sitting on an angle which will cause excessive uneven tread wear. depending on the angle, they will say you have positive or negative camber. hope that helps

That is very strange considerin his maxima isn't lowered, at least I don't think so judging from the pictures he has shown me... why would it need to be replaced?

If the lower control arm is bent, that is probably why the camber is off in the first place. A camber kit won't help w/o replacing the lower control arm. Depending on how badly the lca is bent, determines how off the camber is. Start looking for a replacemant lca.

If it's not a lowered car, just replace the control arm.

Or try checking some local junk yards.
