i have to put new gear oil in since i popped my axle out on accident. i have been ordering redline shockproof for my se-r. its gl-4. can i use the same in the maxima. what do you guys recommend. i have a 97 5 speed maxima. thanks.

also, should i replace my axle seal. i didnt, but the car is still up i can still replace it. all i did was pop te axle out and pop it back in. thanks

I'm not sure what redline shockproof is, but have certainly heard of redline. Use only GL4 in your 97 Maxima, do not use GL5 or any GL4/GL5 blends. I would be inclined to replace the axles seals. What condition are the CV boots in?

boots are fine. im going to leave the seal in if it leaks, then i will change it. i just put down the front end, im working on the rear now. thanks. i will order soem mt90.

 

how do i fill the tranny with the fluid. i took all the intake stuff off to look for it. is it the bolt that looks like you need to put a rachet in there? i thought that was it but i didnt take it out because its on the side of the tranny housing. i thought that it would leak out. all i need to do i fill my tranny up and ill be ready to test my coilovers. thanks
