How to get a CD out of Bose unit

Something happened to my BOSE unit - it refuses to eject the CD that is inside. It plays that CD just fine - but when I press eject button it doesn't even flick!

Do you guys know what might be going on here?

Disconnecting the battery resets it and it should eject a CD.

Thanks! I'm gonna try it tonight. I'm actually afraid that all the heat "melted" something on than CD and it kind of get glued in there. I really hope this is not the case!

CD Player that WORKS?

How fortunate you are! I don't know of many maxima owners that have Kracko/Bose head units that actually still play C.D.'s... Thank God they must of thought ahead and offerred a tape player too

Make sure the unit is cool too. Mine does crazy things like that in really hot weather until it cools down from the air conditioning

This happened to me all of a sudden a few days ago. I ended up having to takeout the bsoe and the top metal cover to expose the Cd and stick in a small think screw driver and push out the CD, fine and no problems since.

this works if you take out the conenctors on the back of the bose unit then put them back in, but you'll need to be playing the cd then turn off the unit for it to eject it back out, once you plug the connectors back in.

My headunit used to just not even turn on when I bought the car. Now it works fine Resetting it by disconnecting the battery worked whenever that would happen though.

Mine is a '95, original headunit, and still plays CD's...so I guess I can say I'm one of the few

Had a similar incident a couple years ago. Power disconnect didn't work & the CD wouldn't play. Finally, I just took a small flathead screwdriver & pried up on the edge of the CD & it ejected.

I've had this car for 8 years & have had no other problems with the head unit.............the amps on the speakers are another story.

You want to talk about heat and hot weather? Everyday I get off work, I do not get to listen to my cd player. In Arizona, it hasn't been less than about 90 - 100 degress in the past couple of weeks. Plus, it is way hotter inside the car than outside.

But about getting the cd out, I would also suggest what A95GLE had said. Good luck.

And another thing...wrong place to post "audio" questions.

Nope, power disconnect didn't work.

Funny thing - the CD still plays just fine - I can change the track, etc.

How did you pry it out of there? Did you have in CD mode and just went for it?

take out the bose, may need to take off the face but probably not. Take of the top metal plate and you'll be able to see into the CD player unit and see the cd itself, use something the pry it forward and out of the unit, becareful but it will need a little bit of force.

My cd player isnt a bose. It wont play the 2nd half of a burnt cd, but it will play the first half fine, but it plays normal non burnt cds without a problem..
