painting your valve cover the right way
best time to do this is on a sunny dry day with no humidity
remove with allen key
clean with tooth brush/ soap and water
dry
primer one coat
dry
tape off area with painters tape you don't want paint
then use high temp paint and put light coats on
let dry and be patient is the key. 3 light coats are better than 1 thick dripping coat.
let dry for 1 day between coats
use touch up paint to repaint area (letters you want) carefully letters you want different from the painted areas.
when you are fully happy with all the colors, finish with 3 light coats of clear paint and it will look buttas!!!!
i have mastered this after doing 5 valve covers now and my cover is so perfect it looks like factory made.
i chose all silver with cherry red letters for a clean look.
i originally had red with silver letters and it was too showwie but hey that;s just my taste. you can choose any color set up you want, it's ur imagination that u have to use!
good luck, and by the way, vasilene don't work, trust me on it, save it for other extra cirrecular activities if you know what i mean!
