I looked at 97 maxima today thats se, stick, and cloth exactly what im looking for. The mileage was very high 128,000. The only issue is that it had a check engine light on. I had a mechanic at the dealership tell em what it was for and he said knock sensor and egr valve/solenoid. I saw in the faq about changing the knock sensor and it dosen't seem to difficult, but basically my question is... are these codes together an indication of a much bigger problem? Could this egr code mean that a whole host of things could possibly be wrong?
I normally would have searched on this subject but I can't.

 

how much is he asking for the max

 

its up for 4995 its at a dealership which I prefer to buy private but still the price is real good. I'm just worried about the egr code.

I would never buy that. i found mine my 97 se with 110000 miles on it for 5000 in great condition. Theres a lot in our area keep looking.

I saw one just like that in the classifieds in my area. Private Seller for about $3800 OBO. as others have said, keep looking.

Too much money! I got my 98 with 131k for $3,600. Keep looking for better deal. or try to get the guy down since the check engine light is on.

 

Its really hard to find a 5 spd with sunroof in my area thats 97-99 and good color.
