Got to drive a '91 Skyline R32 GTR

Hard to put into words...
"Awesome" or whatever is just lame, doesn't do justice to actual experience.
Got a long ride first, then got to drive it a few miles.
Now it feels like I could hop out of my 97 SE and run faster.
She-it the thing just flies. And grips. And stops.
It's for sale (I posted it in the Maximas for sale forum).
Wish I had the $.
It's worse than crack. I need that vehicle.
Now I have to go cry.

Wrong forum?
Look, I love my Maxima, but wouldn't we all be driving Skylines if we could?
Isn't a Maxima related to the Skyline?

I got to drive a Lotus Esprit about 30 years ago and that was cool
but this was by far the sweetest ride I've ever been in.
I didn't push it very hard - wasn't mine and I'd want to get to know it better before I really wrung it out anyway. But the owner was pretty suicidal, or at least didn't care about his license much. He'd just hammer it and went as fast as possible most of the time - which was pretty fast. I could sue for whiplash.
Only downside is that I'm spoiled for anything else now.

No it's not. There is this one forum we have called OTHER CARS FORUM. Meaning anything but maxima. The only thing related between a max and a skyline is the make, nothing else.

Yeah, I know, but still... we can dream when we drive.
And how many Maximas have a GTR emblem? (not mine, but a bunch, yes?).
Didn't know about the "other cars" forum.

Sterlingmax -
Probably right, but I'll win the lottery b4 I'd even get to touch one of those.

sweeeeeeeettt, hes' my hero...

oh man, I'm jealous, wish the skyline wasn't illegal in the US, damn our government... grrrr...
uhh its not illegal unless u legalize it, as for skylines that is. the waiting period is actually pretty grueling, 2-3 months from what i heard but its well worth it for a skyline.

damn, last time i went to korea, i didn't see any, well maybe cause i was like 10 yrs old but i'll def be on the look out for some the next time i go.

The skyline isn't illegal in the US, you can get one if you have the money. I believe if you brought one direct from japan it would have to be conformed to US safety specs. Motorex.com sells em I think. The r34 is like $100k though, that's a house!! Skylines are quick, I drove a 90 for a few days when I was in Japan but rear well drive makes a difference too if you never drove one.

What kind of a shotty *** house is only $100k? Maybe a down payment on a house. Also we're talking about the GTR not the GTS, the GTS is a much tamer car.

You forget where I'm posting from, houses in Chicago cost way more than in the south. Soo much hate...

Price info for the r34:

I don't see what all the hype is about... Yea the skyline is an ok looking car, but I'd much rather have an m3 or m5 instead. I would estimate about 99% of people in this country haven't even been in one not mention about 97% of people don't even know what a skyline is and think your talking about the blue stuff above you. To be honest with you I didn't know what one was till I watched some ricer movies.

Is it really that great and what car would you compare it to if there is something to compare it to?

if you don't know what all the hype is about then you havent seen one in action. the tunning capablity of the car is insane. Nismo is buying some old R34 GTR's to make them into the fastest production car made. The R32 33 and 34 already are quick from the factory stock. I dont know to me i would want to have a Skyline over a M3 or M5 because not everyone would have one. Yea so what if some people might not know what one is if they saw one on the Road. Iam not sure what car you could compare it to but you could probaly compare it to the best cars out there, in performance and handling

There hasn't been a ricer movie yet that has really done that car justice. There are cars quicker than the GTR like the Lancer, but it's a good looking car with guts.

Motorex buys them, brings them to US specs and then is allowed to seel them in the states. So, yes, technically, they are illegal to be sold in the US. The companies that buy them with special permission to modify them to spec are ok.
