5 speed swap

hi everyone. my auto transmission is going to die. Now Im thinking about swap (5 speed). I ve been looking for manual transmission for couple weeks already (ebay, junkyards). And nothink. But I found 5 speed manual tranny for altima 98 with 88k on it. Do you know if it will fit maxima, and what mods have to be done to make it work??

thanks

I would say go with a 5th gen 5spd for the stronger 3rd gear and properly sized shims.

Can I get my 4th gen LSD 5 speed rebuilt to be as strong as the 5th gen, ie resolve the pitfalls with the 4th gen trans?

Cryo-treat, shot-peen, etc. and it'll be stronger than a 5th gen by a wide margin.
