using better fuel will give you better gas milage. MOve up to 91 octane, it will do a world of good, and only cost you a few extra dollar out of your pocket.

Good Sparks, Clean air filter, properly inflated tires, will give you better fuel economy.

Um... no theres no precautions.. ur suppost to use premium gas to begin with in maximas... I've been using 93 since I got my max 3k miles ago... idk what previous owner used but I always put 93 from Shell or BP. And I dont see why you wouldnt be able to afford it.. its .10 cents more a gallon, like $1.50 more on a full fill up

There are no precautions from going from 89 to 91 octane gas. When you do so you might as well tank the gas tank right down on 89 octane so you have mostly 91 octane when you fill up. You may then notice a performance improvement after awhile and perhaps a modest gain in fuel economy.

New spark plugs will make a difference but it will only be noticeable if your present spark plugs are on their way out.

Fuel economy will benefit from properly inflated to modestly over-inflated tires. Ensure you have at least what is recommended under the lid of the console or in the owners manual. For my 95SE that's 33 front, 32 rear. Not sure what it is for a 95GLE, it may be the same or slightly less.

Check out the condition of your air cleaner. Fuel filters and automatic transmission fluid should be changed every 30K.

I donno, ill look at the gas prices and see if it really is only a little more. Problem is, a lot of gas stations around here have like "regular" and "supreme" I donno wtf supreme is. Some list 89 91 92 or whatever the numbers are but its not always.

I was referring to a 4th Gen. Mine is a 95SE; the car in question is a 95GLE. My OEM tires are 215s; the GLE is 205.

it may costs more, but im pretty sure the improved gas mileage makes up for most of the additional cost.

89 octane is not supreme or premium, it is mid-grade.

91-93 are premuim gases, or best gas. (varies by state on top octane) Anything under 91 is not good for your car. Tho you could use 87 and not notice a differnce, its all long term. Nissan suggest to use premuim, so therefore you should use premuim, not 87 or 89
