a few tranny questions, step in .

I had my clutch, t/o and rear main put in on saturday. I was told that when the t/o is replace the noise from the clutch engaged to disengaged would go away .. still there. Not only that but now my car is leaking tranny fluid and oil. If they over flowed it would it leak, and if so for how long. I spent alot of money getthing done so if anyone can help the sooner the better .

thanks guys !

I could be wrong, but I've had 2 trannys rebuilt at a shop and they have never had a sound or leak after the fix, i'd call up whoever did it and check or have them look at it, i dont think this is right

Yeah I have had the pleasure of doing a couple of maxima transmission's and I've NEVER had any noise from the TO bearing, sounds like something's not right - i'd get it checked out ASAP.

Why not go independent?
IIRC, I read on the .org that that sound could also be IN the tranny, something like the Input Shaft bearing, or main shaft bearing. IT IS NOT RIGHT, and I would suggest that you just take this back to the shop instead of waiting for our ideas, because you really shouldn't pay for any repair costs to come.

hey i don't mean to hijack this thread, but i'm in the process of replacing my 96 tranny.

what do you guys think is a reasonable price for a manual rebuilt tranny..i've heard others say a few hundred for a used/rebuilt tranny, but have not been able to find any that cheap.
