help with bleeding clutch, ASAP!
help with bleeding clutch, ASAP!
so we were putting in the clutch lines for the 5spd conversion, and the clutch lines will not bleed properly. we took the master cylinder out and tested it and when you put your finger on and off where the fluid shoots out it tests fine, but then when hooked up to the hardline the pressure doesn't build up. anybody know what's going on here? any help would be appreciated, we'll give it a 2nd shot tomorrow.
It takes a while for the pressure to build up in the clutch. I know I pumped mine for a few good minutes before there was resistance in the pedal. Open one of the bleeders, step on the pedal, close the bleeder(both of them) and start pushing and pulling the pedal with your hands. It should get harder. If you see no leaks anywhere it should be fine.
ya we were pumping for a while. we tested the master cylinder using water to see if it would hold pressure, but then when hooked up to the lines, hardly any brakefluid goes in and it seems it can't hold pressure w/ the lines attached.
