0509 = front heated O2 sensor (high voltage), left bank.

Replace the front O2 sensor closest to the front of the car.

this is the same code that went off like 6 months ago. I had it checked out cause i didn't knw this org yet. it's the same exact thing. he said that if it doesn't come back, then i shouldn't worry about it. but if it does, then he says that i should change it. but its really up to me what i wanna do. what would you guys do?? i don't think that its hurting my gas mileage yet, cause my mechanic also said, be careful cause changing one might mean you need to change all 3 since the new one might set the other old ones off....hymm....
$118 is ok. but if its 3 of them. $354??? thats a lil deep right now....

Change it. You can get one for 75 bucks (Bosch OEM equivalent) at www.oxygensensors.com, mention maxima.org for an additional discount.

Only change the one that set the code. Change the others when you get codes for them - no need to spend money on them right now.
