sry I know people are kind of sick of the rim posts but I need to see how they look on our maximas.....looking through cardomain takes wayyyy too much time ..thanks ... I dont care what kind of rotas, they are all pretty light weight

Do they make 16" rotas any wider than 7 inches? If not you probably don't want them. Civic wheels on a max are a little narrow.

well I dont wanna go any wider than my stock SE 16' rims ...I think these are 6.5 or 7 ... so if I just wanted to stay stock width wouldnt this be fine?

stock se rims are 6.5 inches wide and all 16 inch rota wheels start at 7 inches wide so there are none that are 6.5" wide. However you can still use the 215/55/16 stock sized tire on the 7" wide rim.

How come you don't want wider than stock? The stockers are 6.5 so you will already be wider than stock, but really if you are into performance at all, a 7" rim on a car this large isn't really the best option you have.

yes but having a wider rim, dosent this actually slow you down a bit since the transmission and gears are pushing and spinning more of a wheel..the 6.5 width stock se rim is designed to match the gears of the maxima....or is it just having to much height with the tire and rim slow you down ?

The difference of 1/2" is pretty negligible. .. If you think Nissan "matched the gears" then why do all 95/6's have 15's, and 97+ have 16's, same engine? Also, the extra width helps a smidge in cornering. to Neal. 7" wide aftermarkets on a maxima =

good point...I just wanna make sure im getting every single one of my 190 horses spinning my wheels the fastest they can go without any loss of power

ok cool....good to know....what do you recommend?, 7.5 ? and if I do decide on 7.0 or 7.5, whats a good height, stick with the 215/55?

Well I beg to differ on that point. I went from the stock steelies, to 17x8 borbets and the handling was very different from the wheel change alone. Granted, these rims have better tires than all seasons, but the extra width did help with cornering and the steering isnt as sloppy either. But that was a much larger increase than .5".

Christ, read the rest of the thread... I was saying he won't notice any difference in acceleration going from a 6.5" wide stock rim to a 7 or 7.5" or 8" wide aftermarket rim. Don't you think I know that handling will change (for the better). Look who you're talking to...
