I got a track vid that I need to post from last weekend. What I find kind of interesting is that fact that the car did pretty well with the ghost KS code at the track....(Just found out about it today)

The KS issue might have been helped by the fact that I was running 95 octane..?

No. You could run 100 octane and that wouldn't help the problem. With a bad KS the timing is being pulled regardless...

Are you saying that for daily driving you don't carry a spare tire. If so, my suspicions are confirmed: You, sir, are an idiot!

Just for saying that, I hope you get a flat. I dont know where all you people get your info from but all US 4th gens have AT LEAST 3 o2 sensors. I dont care if you are cali or fed.

95 octane and still a ks code? my ks went bad from 89 octane, but now i use 93 and not a problem. they dont have anything higher than 93 around where i live, unless out in long island.

neways the book recommends at least 91 octane. how many miles do you have? a bad 02 could probabley trigger it off

How does using a lower octane gas make a knock sensor go bad?

Car knocks more yes and knock sensor is constatly detecting knock. There is a message on your fuel door for a reason. Why wouldnt u use premium?

because people think they are saving money by using cheap gas, when it will just hurt their engines and cost them quite a bit more ...

Also, yes, we all have 3 knock sensors, though only two affect engine performance/A-F mixture

The vibartions given out by detonation or pre-igntion are very slight compared to 100's of other vibrations your engine bay gets.

You would never, ever know if using lower octane gas caused a knock sensor to go bad. It would just be a guess, and a bad one IMO.
