Knock Sensor Replacement Question

I was looking at the positioning for replacement of my knock sensor, and I was thinking I might just take out the intake section from after the throttle body to the air filter box, I was wondering if anyone has tried that and if it actually helped position the extension better.

The knock sensor is where it is for a reason. I have heard about relocating it...but I wouldnt trust it. Good luck.

I haven't had to replace my KS, but I think he is talking about accessing it, not relocating it.

with a 12" entension and universal joint, it should come off and out in less than 2 min. Just reach in and feel around.

I just had to change my KS due to a failed emissions test. The job isn't as bad as everyone says. You do have to stuff your hand in there to position the new sensor with the bolt, but besides that it is pretty easy. Took me about 45 minutes to get the job done and that included fishing the flex socket out from down below.

Good luck!

Just remove the harness before you do this. The harness gets in your way.

I got it done, I just took out the air filter box to get a straight line access. I was done in like 15 minutes. Noticed improvement immediately. While it the airbox was off I went ahead and cleaned the throttle body, was done with everything in half an hour.
