I bought a TB from an org member. Im pretty sure it came out of a 98 or 99 maxima. Thing is I have a 95 TB, I just installed this one and the only problem I have is with the TPS (Throatle Postion sensor). On my 95 TB the thing that turn the sensor is like flat L type metal piece. On this new TB theres 2 small bars that turn the sensor. So What I did was turn on the car left the screws on the sensor loose and turned it to where the engine would more or less idle. If I turned it to almost striaght up the engine would rev to 2k, I turned it toward the passenger side the engine is around 750-800 rpms. I also adjusted the Air bypass control (That plastic screw) and the Idle right now is 650-700. My main concern is that will anything mess up? Will my air to fuel ratio be affect by this? Should I just go back to my 95 tb?

Why did you replace your old TB?

You should use the correct sensor for the specific year TB your trying to install. Provided your car's ECU will accept the signal from a different years setup.

well it seems to be working fine.. If anything ill get a sensor for the new TB im sure it will work with the plug. The reason I replaced my old one was because it was just looking like a mess. The cable plates were clogged up with so much ****, and the color was turning dark brown. I didnt want it to start rusting up. I picked up a much better condition TB for 15 bucks. Also Ive noticed that the sensor def works, I had the thing bolted on loose I played with it and the engine revved up higher when the switch was pushed forward. I adjusted it so that im at normal idle and response just as the old one did at WOT or just idle.
