Reoccurring ECU Codes
Reoccurring ECU Codes
everytime there is good storm and alot of rain, my 1996 maxima (106k miles) starts throwing codes. however its always the same ones. "Knock Sensor" and "Front Right Heated O2 sensor". well i know its not knocking, and the O2 sensor has been checked repeatedly, no opening for moisture. could it really be over heating? and could my engine really be knocking even tho i have no degraded engine performance. i have had it looked at and maintenance agrees no issues. ECU issue?? any suggestions.
Heated O2 Sensor Symptoms
...Knock sensor code already there, does that mean it was knocking? On another note, what are some noticable symptoms of a Heated O2 Sensor?? Because i havent had any deminished engine performance or fuel issues.
1. Bad o2 sensor will cause a loss in mpg.
2. No doesn't mean there was knocking - our cars are notorious for throwing the KS code together with any other real fault.
3. As already stated, replace the o2 sensor (bosch oem equiv. from oxygensensors.com), reset the ECU and you'll be set. Check again in a few days to make sure the KS code has not reposted (it will not set the CEL on its own). If the KS posts again (on its own) then replace that too.
