Funny shaking under the car .... :squint:

I'm thinking it might be a tranny mount? That's all I could come up with .....

When I stop at a stop light or stop sign, ect., it will shake a little bit under the car near the front center (like under the gas pedal and stereo area), it's a very fast vibration for a few seconds and then it will stop and then if I am stopped for long enough, it will do it again- it only does it while in drive; in neutral and park it does not do it at all (I usually just put it in neutral when I come to a stop now). And it doesn't do it while I am driving down the road, and it doesn't make a "thud" (the best way I can describe that feeling/sound) when I put it into gear so it threw out my thoughts it might be the motor mount -

anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

could be a motor mount or bushing. Jack up the car and check it out.

Put it on jack stands start the car and put in drive and look for the problem area.

Well, that's a relief - I wasn't sure if I was troubleshooting the problem correctly I guess I am learning more about cars than I thought I was ... ha ha ... I am not to crazy about crawling underneath a jacked car while it's running though, so it looks like it will go to the local shop here and I will have them check it out for me.

Thanks for the advice though

i used to get a weird vibration that i could feel through the wheel and pedals....and i'd look at my tach which would dip below 600rpms

It idles fine as long as it is in neutral or park. It is smooth as silk then, it's just in drive and only for aprox. 3-5 seconds and then it will stop for 3-5 seconds and then start over again. It's really weird. Nothing else is a bit "off" about the car, so I'm thinking it has to be something minor. *crosses fingers* I am taking it in on Thursday morning to find out.

Whats the idle at when you are in D? It sounds like a low base-idle problem to me. Did you clean the throttle body and the IACV?
