2 Different types of Illuminas for 99's?

I've been searching around for prices on Illuminas, and i'm noticing that the listings are for 95-3/99. Do certain 99's manufactured after a certain date need to use a different set of struts? I'm guessing the 991/2's have a different application? Anyone know about this?

if they sell different ones, I'd assume you'd need to get the one for when your car was manufactured. Check your's and proceed from there.

Here is what I found out:

If your 99 was manufactured before 3/99, you need these part #'s:
BB3102 and BB3103 fronts, BU2905 x2 rears

If it was manufactured 4/99 and after, you need these part #'s:
BB3188 and BB3189 front, BU2943 x2 rears

But why would they bother listing them like that unless there were a few out there? There must be some 5th gen 99's out there.

What? 5th gen 99? It is still a 2000.

The part numbers you listed are for a 5th gen.

My 99.5 SE-L was mfg. on 1/99. By 4/99 I'm sure Nissan was mfg. 5th gens.
All 4th gen Maxima's use the same front struts and rear shocks.

Tokico is refering to Mfg. date of the vehicle, not necessarily the model year of the car.
