i dont think i banged it up at all and yes, i did unplug and clean it, and plug it back in after it threw the code.

i was reading and noticed that the stock pulley has a magnetic core. all aftermarket ones are aluminum, thus not being magnetic at all. i think this may be a possible cause for this, for the sensor uses the spacing and magnetism to do its "sensing".

also, can this cause anythign horrible? i noticed a sputter between 4500 and 6000 rpms in 3rd gear. anyone have any ideas?

ahhhh, yes....magnetism, i just learned about this from looking at an sc set up....u can leave the cam sensor in even without the bolt being in because its magnetic it will hold...my guess is as good as yours...maybe the magnetic property is gone because of the pulley ure talking about...

yea, but the sensor isnt the magnetic piece, it measures the magnetism in the magnetic core of the pulley.
