Put stock airfilter back on and don't pass Smog? Any Ideas?
Hi,
I took off my cone airfilter just before going in for my smog check, drove about 3 miles to the station, and failed my low speed check.
15mph failed with high NO, measured at 490
25mph passed NO, measured 260
All other measurements are way below failure levels.
My question is whether changing the air filter minutes before the test is having a negative impact on my SMOG results?
BTW, rest of engine is stock, 98 GXE, it was 97 degrees outside and this is to pass the California test.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Mr. P
