I want to lower my car right to the wheels and I saw that Intrax makes the lowest spring. Are they any good?

don't go to low the car will drive to harsh. try to get h&r or apex. h&r will cost you more.

Intrax is a very bouncy and harsh ride its very annoying driving around when you cant even get comfortable.... Go for the H&R/Tokico combo, works very well for me and lowers it 1.5inches. You can buy the Stillen body kit to finish off the rest of the ground clearance In my opinion the maxima does look better slammed with no body kit but i commute everyday to school so i decided no to go too low...

intrax are to harh. apex are just about the same as h&r but apex will cost you less. h&r are really made for bmw / merc / lexus. don't get tokico they start lossing performance at about 7k to 8k mls, get the koni they are better.

How can you say the Intrax is too harsh? Out of all the springs, they are the softest. I've ridden in a car with H&R's, and another with Cattman's and both were much more harsh than my car. My only problem is that I scrape a lot due to how low the car sits.

Boing Boing Boing...

First of all, Don't just assume things if you don't really know. I don't think any of you guys have actually ridden in a max with Intrax. I have Intrax springs and I have ridden in Max with Eibach and H&R. Out of the three, the Eibach rode the worst around the town, it was stiff. I couldn't really tell the difference between the H&R and the Intrax. With any springs you need to have good shocks, otherwise its going to be harsh and bouncy.

i sell stereo's, wheels and tires, alarm system, springs, shocks, tv's , h.i.d.'s , cat-backs, and all acc. for about 10 hrs. a day. we have to sell a little bit of everything. so i have been in many diff. cars with all kinds of set-ups including s600 that cost $140,000 , we put a $28,000 stereo and the car is going to have a $30,000 face lift next week. this car is a 2000 with only 7,000 mls so i do know. intrax are harsh unless you have perfect streets.

But does that 140K S600 have Intrax springs? Probably not. Intrax may seem harsh, but it's most likely bottoming out.

no the s600 doesn't have springs yet, we order barabus kit for it. they sould be in about 3 weeks from now. h&r 's are very good but if you want to save some buck go with apex almost the same. h&r will drop about 1.5" the apex will do 1.4"

k.. good for u.. but ummm.. the question is where is your idea that they are bouncy comes from?? have u been in the same car with h&r and eibachs? or are you just going on the sales idea that h&r is good name?? just curious.. but like he said its the shocks that really make the difference.. if they can't handle the springs they will bottom out and get all messed up

i never said they were bouncy i said they are harsh. we have done a few maximas and the best ride is h&r with koni but not every-one has that kind of bucks. they rather spend money on making the car look good first. i had a bmw 325 conv. with 17" wheels and intrax springs it was so bad that i sold the car in lss than 6 months. the guy that works with me has a 300si in yellow and has h&r with 18" wheels and drives very good and the roads here are ok

Don't forget about sprint springs http://sprintspring.com . They lower the car 2 inches. I have heard that they are not that harsh.

Dude, I was kidding. Don't take everything so seriously. It just seemed kind of funny that you would sell a car over a set of springs. As for the Intrax springs, he wanted to buy low springs, and Intrax are the lowest. When you lower a car that much, it's going to bottom and scrape, no way around it. You know that going into it, it's just something you have to deal with. Yes, my car bottoms out sometimes and scrapes occasionally too. But I knew that would happen so I deal with it. Not that big of a deal. I never said Intrax springs were for everyone, but I just hate it when everyone talks trash on them without ever even riding on them. At least you used to have a set on your car so your opinion is valid. Most of the time it's just people who've heard from other people that the ride is bad and don't actually have any idea of what they're talking about.

dude, I have apex on my car and they're not bad but B&G make better springs than apex and they lower the car more. The ride is wicked and the handling is great and the best part is; they aren't expensive!!! We just installed B&G's on my friends 975sp Se about 2 mos ago, if anyone's wondering where I got the background on B&G from.

Will my car get messed up with new springs and stock shocks? Also what would the performance be like?

blumax,

No your car wouldn't get messed up with stack shocks on lowering springs, but those shocks will wear out quickly. Within a matter of months you will notice a *drastic* decline in shock performance.

You need to get Tokiko blues at the very least, or Koni's if you have extra money and want a shock that will *LAST* (bonus: they're adjustable!)

I'm not too sure where to find any 411 on those springs because I found out about them through some performance up here in Toronto! Try doing some searches on the web for B&G? That's the only thing I can suggest!

cheers,
