strut mounts?

This weekend I replaced my struts myself on my 99 SE.
I followed the several different post on how to do it.
I used to have progress springs and went back to stock. Used the KYB AGX's in both applications. The install wasn't difficult at all as long as you have to correct tools.

My questions come when dealing with the strut mounts. At the top of the springs the mount to hold them in had "out" written on it. I figured that was to face to the outside of the wheel well when it is installed. Is this correct? The car seems to sit high in the front but that could because I still need an alignment or because I was so used to it lowered.

Does anyone have any idea if this is correct? Anyone come across the word "out" written on their's? I didn't read about it on any posts from others whom done the install. I'm hoping to find out before I get it aligned tomorrow morning.

Thanks.

Tom

I think you were just used to it being lowered, stock is pretty high compared to most drops. With the strut mount, I believe it can only go in one way because the studs for the strut tower wouldn't line up right. One of them is a little offset.

IIRC the out refers to the fact that the mounts are specific to left & right. If you mix em up they just don't line up and sit right on the strut assm.

Facing out is correct, regarding it seems high, as long as it's even from side to side its probably okay

Thanks all. I really liked the lowered look. Now I feel like I can go off-road. :P
