Hmm...so I guess the 2000-2001 I30 and 2001 AE Max are just myths then?

if you look at it closer that looks likea 5th gen...not the 4th... unless they swapped the 00VI in there...

edit: the Mevi is not just a cover guys......he's asking for just a cover......

Right...MEVI isn't just a cover. And that cover won't fit without a MEVI, either. My post still stands true, though. The I30/AE engine cover DOES fit 4th gens. That is a 5th gen in the pic though.

He said engine cover, not spark plug cover. Everybody else has basically been wrong up until I posted.

...or maybe I'm wrong and he's another n00b who says "engine cover" but actually means spark plug cover because he can't tell the difference

I am aware that it is not just a cover. He wants a cover and with an mevi the cover will fit.

The 2001-2003 engine covers will fit the VQ-30 engine. The VQ-35 is the same, externally, without the cover,as the VQ30 . So , the engine cover from an '03 will probabaly fit.....though it would be a misnomer, since the cover will say 3.5 and youll still have a 3 liter. Use the '00 engine covers for accuracy.

As far as a MEVI is concerned....if you live in an urban , stop-and-go environment, then forget it.....you'll be hatin' life for want of engine jewlery.

Please don't spread misinformation. It's 2002+ that has VQ35, and 2000-2001 that still uses a VQ30. '00 did not have an engine cover except I30's. Only the 2001 AE edition Maxima had an engine cover as far as Maximas go.

What Id like to know is if anybody has ever actually put a 01 AE engine cover on their 4th gen... Or this this purely speculation.

It's not purely speculation. I've seen it on regular VQ30DE's. Take a look on cardomain. I don't know who off-hand, but I know there are some that have it.

Think about it...why WOULDN'T it work?

Hmmm... I30tMikeD said that it absolutely would not fit. No how, no way, what so ever.

I personally saw Redmax95's engine with it using the USDM manifold.
PM him and see what was done to make it fit.
