Changing the rear O2 sensor...adivce?

Pulled the code 0707 which points to the rear O2 sensor. Any advice on how to change it? This is for a 99.

I used a socket with a slit in it for the wires. Not sure if it's specific to the rear o2 sensor or not, but if you've done the y-pipe itt should be cake.

when i go to buy the 02 sensor for the code 0707 they ask me if its before or after the catylitic converter. so which is it? because there is like a 40 dollar difference.
also whe ni was talking to the guy at o'reillys he was saying his "computer" shows taht my car only has 2 o2 sensors..but i know thats not it...so maybe i need a part number to make sure this fool and given me the wrong tool. unless he means there are 2 different kinds (the kind before and the kind after the cat)

The O2 sensor for a 95-96 is on the cat... the 97-99 is on a piece of pipe after the cat

Concerning the difference between the two front O2 sensors... There is two different part numbers... one for front drivers side O2 and front passenger side O2

That picture that Audtatious pasted is the 98 showing the O2 sensor on that short pipe after the Cat... Chillin, your rear O2 sensor is right on the cat... Take a look under your car...

but that (the one on the cat) is in fact the rear sensor, right? the one that just "keeps tabs"

Mine went bad too, so I just cut it off. The code never returned. I also don't have to pass OBD2 emissions either. (96 or newer in NC)

What size O2 socket were you able to find? I've only been able to find 7/8 but the bosch oem replacement sensor looks to be about 16-18 mm. I'd like to replace the sensor without messing with the cat heat shield. Thanks.

PS I've tried Advance, Autozone, NAPA, Carquest and Pepboys for a socket. One sensor sales website said that there wasn't a socket that fit.
