Trying to find a spot so i can send some wires into the engine bay and other 1999 owners have any suggestions? How do you get it through?

 

driver's side under the dash there is a rubber seal about 3" which plugs a hole in the firewall. I just puta hole in it to run the wire thru.

 

I have a 96 and ran a 4 gauge wire for my amps. I dont know if theres a difference between a 96 and a 99. Follow the red wire. there was a plug, but i just removed it and put a grommet in its place.

 

On my 1999 there is no hole in that spot.

in one of the stickes i do belive their is a solution, something about the wheel wells, and a spot to run them under.

 

yezzir. there should be a spot behind the driver's side strut mount. remove the wheel well guard (about 4-5 screws. not the whole thing) and u should be able to see where to run the wire. inside the cabin it should come out behind the steering column if i remember correctly. if i could do it in the dark with an led light, it shoudl be pretty obvious in daylight.

 

Just follow the hood release cable into the cabin. thats how I got my power wire for my amp through to my trunk on my 95 SE

 

I think people with 99's should be chiming in because there are some differences between the years. I have a 97 and have tons of space to drill and do whatever I want. Plus I have an auto without abs. Zach's car is a whole different story.

do you have an auto? if so, if you look at where the clutch would be if your car were a stick, youll find a diamond shaped cut in the fabric...

Rip that out and drill a hole there and youll be set

 

If any of you guys could take a pic of what exactly your describing that would be awesome. its is kind of vauge to me as to where you guys are describing. My car is also standard and there for i have clutch master and other things behind the strut tower.
Deezo I love it.... The mevi is awesome even thought its wired open all the time man oh man it feels so good.

 

you'll need to pull down your driver side fender lining, and you'll see a big boot with a bunch of wires going through it. You cut a small hole on that boot, and you can run anything throught it. All the wires that run, will end up on dirverside kick panel.

 

I haven't put a stereo in my 99, but when I had my 92 I just busted out the drill and made myself a hole. Just measure, line it up, and drill a tiny pilot hole to make sure you're not drilling into anything important.

 

how do you get the wires to the soleniod for your mevi?

 

why are you going to the passenger compartment, to install your mevi? When i had a MEVI on my 97, i had everything under the hood. The only problem i had was with the cheap vac can from napa..

Not at all with the Summit. I'm still looking for the part number for my connector also.

 

I can come by your way no problem but i can't make it there until 1pm. i have class from 9am-12pm ? that would be cool if i could get the part # for the GM stuff ?
