Speed sensor - can't find it anywhere!

Hey, call this a really dumb question, but where is the speed sensor? i just did the 5spd swap, everything is going well, but the speedometer stays at 0, so i'm guessing the speed sensor must not be plugged in. Where is it located on the 4th gen manual tranny? i'm really anxious to get my car running at 100% with the manual transmission.

Thanks.

It is located next to where the right axle goes into the tranny

to clarify, it's on the very top of the transmission, in the very back, near the fuel filter (slightly below and towards the passenger side). you can access it just fine from under the hood without removing anything from the engine bay.

if you remove the intake up to the throttle body and look at the back of the transmission you should see a clip surrounded by a 3/4 plastic piece, one bolt and it comes right out, very easy to do

Oh, I had my mechanic changed my speedsensor. You can see it by removing the intake snookle. It's hidden near the starter area. To remove it, you need to jack your car up. You won't be able to see it from the bottom. You have to feel and touch where the sensor is. Locate the sensor from the top and feel it and remove it from the bottom. Good luck

the speed sensor cost around $50 at the dealership.

thanks, i found it by removing the airbox and MAFS. It was hard connecting it because the engine was very hot, but everything's connected now. Now to hook up the clutch safety switch so my cruise will work...

Thanks,
-Freddy
