i need electrical help with my antenna

I bought an aftermarket antenna from a fellow orger. Nobody can give me clear instructions on how to wire this **** up.
I read on my PREVIOUS aftermarket antenna that if you simply cut off the wiring harness from your old antenna (the female end of the harness) you can wire that to your new antenna and then it will be "plug and play".
Okay, well the harness is integrated IN TO the STOCK antenna. I took it apart and find that its attached to a little computer chip/circuit board and then 2 wires go from the circuit board to the motor in the antenna im assuming.
So i clip the 2 wires assuming those 2 will match up with the 2 coming from my antenna. So i plugged the old antenna's harness into the one attached to the car in the trunk (coming from the headunit i assum) and touched the wires from the NEW antenna to the ones coming off of the back of the computer chip(old antennas harness). I DID THIS WITH THE RADIO ON THE WHOLE TIME. I then flip flopped the wires and nothing happened.
I became irritated and CUT OFF the harness coming from the car...like an impatient idiot. and cut all three wires with one clip of my wire cutters.
I dont know where i made my mistake but the radio turned off immediately.
I CAN NOT GET IT TO TURN ON AT ALL.
did i blow a fuse????
i appreciate any help.
And now that i think of it, the ground coming from the harness (From the headunit) had no connection to the ground wire coming from the antenna...so that could possibly be a reason the harness didnt work.
I tried touching the wires where i cut the harness straight to the antenna but no luck.
im praying i just blew a small fuse and nothing major, somebody tell me!

checked some of the fuses that were labeled as "bose" and "audio" on the fuse panel but half of them were marked as 7.5 instead of 10 or 10 amps instead of 7.5. Anyhow none of them looked blown...so somebody please help me

okay the more i think about it the more i think i shorted something out by cutting the three wires going to that harness all at once.
but the question is, WHAT.
I guess im going to go pull out each and every fuse under the dash.
anyone have any idea?
so far i've noticed my headunit doesnt work, my flip down visor mirror lights dont work, my alarm doesnt work and my clock doesnt work.

Why did you go through all this trouble for an aftermarket antenna? Are you sure the fuses are alright?

One thing you should check is the ground connection on the HU. I believe that the HU gets it ground connection from the antenna.
