on my 97 I put on a apexi exhaust and loved it

any other nice exhausts for a decent price? Do not want something loud.

GReddy SP2 w/ an additional resonator welded in by a shop. Very quiet compared to most aftermarket catbacks but the car sounds like a demon at WOT.

does the resonator take away any gains you'd get? what is its purpose?

Purpose is to deepen the tone and quiet it somewhat. I did not feel any loss after installing it but then again, that's the butt dyno. Catbacks aren't where you should look for power anyway. Y-pipe, VI, ECU, are the three worthwhile NA mods as far as performance is concerned.
