Wow. That's quite a look! So that's what you guys down in Missouri do in your free time. ;-)

Seriously, this can't be legal. Where are your reverse lights? How do you keep the cops off your back?

Maybe this isn't fair. I've only had my '99 SE-L for about a month. I only plan to get the red/white tail light lens. The led's look funky. Something doesn't look right.

Cops haven't been a problem.

When I initially planned them, I had reverse lights worked into the whole scheme but I ran out of room for them. I figured I'd never had my reverse lights checked at inspection, so why not. The LED's are lower wattage than the conventional lights so my blinkers flash real fast like I have a burnt out bulb. I was really happy with the way they turned out. The white area is painted to match the car.

City transit buses, 18-wheelers are all changing to led's. There more expensive. They last a lot longer and are brighter. On trucks they use the same assembly (so to speak, round lenses. Mercedes uses them on the S500 series. Cadillac uses them on their DeVille. They both use the same lens assembly design. If the max led's used the same stock desigh with led's, now that's a different story.

Love the style, hate the LED's. Maybe the inner lights off an IS in both spots? Also, it would look great if the lines from the original tails were filled in.

I went to the LED's after about a week. I thought they looked better. I liked the way they light up so much faster than the regular lights.

Yes, if you have a complete LED point spread across the entire lens, it is brighter. But like BSwithTF said, the ones he installed are not as bright as his conventional bulbs. Not enough coverage.

They sell these LED cluster units to replace the stock bulbs, but there aren't very many light points (about 12). And they don't throw light throughout the lens area, so they appear "washed out" (someone on the forum posted this experience). That would be quite a good project though--take the APC full clears and modify the unit with LEDs all over the surface.

These LED's are extremely bright at night. They don't look it in these pictures, but they blow the original lights away. They have another type of LED that covers the entire circle instead of only having 10 points in them but they're a lot more expensive.

ONE windshield wiper? Did you get one of those Mercedes wipers and install it or something, or just make your front passenger look at a blurry window in the rain?

You're kidding! Pulled over for a front clear lens and orange bulb? There are so many cars on the road with this setup as an OEM design.

Y'know, I bet you that in areas where a particular car is very popular (Maxima is king in NY metro), cops know the "normal" look. If they see something modified, then they get an itch up their butt and have to pull you over. Did you end up getting a ticket?

I know that LED's don't dim so are there extra bulbs in the cluster?

I just ordered orange incandesant replacement clusters for my blinkers. I really like the digital look they give when they blink(like the Deville). $20 a pop!

Is there a smaller size?

I've seen those lights on the trucks, buses, etc before, and wondered about putting them in my car. Is there a smaller size available so that we could keep the turn signals and reverse lights?

I too have mixed feeling about them. I do think that it is very original. I also think something is missing, but maybe its because you have a white max.

A touring wing! I want to get one like the one Cheston's got on his. Wings West I believe. Sort of a Skyline type look. That'll help a lot with the look of the whole *** end. I think it looks kinda squashed right now with no wing. I have a OEM look-a-like sitting in my shop, painted, ready to go on but I don't want to put a bunch of needless holes in my trunk lid. Any one in need of a pearl white spoiler? I appreciate all the responses.

Re: Re: Is there a smaller size?

Hello Deezo,
Are you sure it's $20/each? The last time that I talked to them (around 4 weeks ago), when the 1156/1157 were not available, they said it will cost like
$48.50/1156 Yellow
$48.50/1157 Red
$72.00/1156 White
So I'm just wondering that how did you get it for $20.oo/each. Please let me know, because I have planed to replace them too. Warm Regards.

NOT BAD.....

IT DID CATCH MY EYE WITH THE TAILLIGHTS!
I HAVE A SUGGESTION THO...RE-WIRE YOUR REVERSE LIGHTS DOWN TO THE BUMPER AND MOUNT TWO SIDEMARKER LIGHTS ON IT (flush) TO SUBSTITUTE FOR YOUR REVERSE LIGHTS....THAT WOULD SET IT OFF SINCE YOUR CARS WHITE!

You have to get them from a wholesaler. I ordered mine thru Breven Electronics in NH. Their price to me was about $20. I was told they will have to be built and it would take 3 weeks for arrival. No returns. Hell if they work, I won't have a problem.

They have a website, http://www.brevan.com. I submitted a request for pricing. It'll be interesting to see if they quote me the same price.

How many bulbs are you ordering, and which ones?

The only thing... if they're $20 a piece, that is a LOT of money just for lighting. Considering reverse lights, corners, signals, and brakes, that's over $160. Certainly makes the Eurolites mentioned earlier in this thread very attractive!

These may be available soon.

I'm working with a tuning shop here in town and they may go into production with some type of core swap program. I'll keep you posted. There are about 4 different styles to choose from. We're working on the prices for different styles.
