while troubleshooting my tps

suspecting the tps for my acceleration/lag issues, I tested the pins on the tps per the instructions on http://vbxmaxima.8m.com/tps.html . put the key to ON and went to check my multimeter and was getting no voltage at all (site says 5V should be buzzin through it). i'm assuming i'll have to get a working tps, but the question is what are the chances the connector/harness went bad?

I checked my tps and have no voltage either. Only reason i checked it was because i got the code.

Also my WOT was only like 1400ohms and closed was 450ohms. The site said it should be 4000ohms WOT and 500 ohms closed.

I DONT GET IT. I bought a new tps and just measured the resistance on WOT and got the same 1400. ***** me, did i just blow 60 bones?

Not to bring up a dead thread, but use the back probing method to test the tps. If you just hook onto the pins, you will not get anything.

tbergma1 - did you install the tps correctly? You are supposed to use the multimeter to adjust the tps, calibrate it, and then tighten it down.

To back probe - stick two pins in (in the back of the pins you want to check) through the top of the sensor while still plugged in to the tps (through the soft/rubber part), and then use alligator clips to secure the multimeter to these pins. You should be able to get a reading of voltage IIRC.
