drive belts

drive belts

how hard is it to replace the drive belt in the car?...i wanna do it myself...but if i can't...wat is a good price range?...thanks

It's not "difficult", but it does involve some somewhat tight spaces. Here's the directions from my Haynes manual (which are highly lacking in detail):

"To replace the belts, loosen the adjuster component until the belt can be removed from the various pulley's. On multiple-belt applications, outer belts have to be removed to access inner belts, but as a general rule, all belts should be replaced at the same time anyway.

Route the new belt over the various pulleys, then adjust the tension. Note: Refer to owner's manual for the belt routing diagram for your specific model."

Nope. Read the post. A direct copy & paste from earlier today when I was helping someone on NYCMaximas.org. It only took about 2-3 min to take the pics for the 1st guy and post them. It only took about 20 seconds to copy that post and put it here! Nothing better than plagiarizing yourself. Especially if it's for a good cause.
