Taillight Question

There is something tripping my taillights fuse and preventing the taillights from turning on.

All four red lights in the back come on when I brake, though.

Earlier today, I disconnected the red lights in the trunk lid, put a new 7.5amp minifuse in the taillights slot, turned on the head&tail lights, and the taillights came on (the outer two).

So, the culprit is in the trunk lid. Probably, it's the bulbs I put in a few weeks ago. Now, I used the little PepBoys computer to find the proper bulb, and it said the same light sufficed for all four lights, if I recall.

Does this sound possible? Are these bulbs tripping my taillights fuse, or is it a wiring problem? Is there a brand of taillight that you guys trust?

Yes, this is the number I got. Good to know I got the right bulb.

Could I have gotten a bad batch? Is it more likely that there's some damage to the wiring inside the harness? And should I try a different brand of bulb, perhaps some OEM bulbs, if I can find them?

Maybe I'll just steal the bulbs out of a stoner friend's Maxima.

It's probably not a bad batch. But, try some other bulbs just incase. I dont know what else to say to help you fix your problem. It's most likely the wires.

I have a 95 SE - for some reason my 3rd brake light, the one on the spoiler doesn't work. The rest do. Does anybody know if it's a fuse of some sort that's out of wack? or if the lights themselves are messed up? Cuz the dealer said they want... well a lot for a replacement spoiler. thanks

There is no fuse for the spoiler light. It taps into the regular brake lights wires. So check that connection. See if any of your brake lights are working. They want to replace the whole spoiler because most likely your LED strip is burnt out.
