i was wondering what was required to lower my car about an inch. Do i just need new springs, or do i need coilovers and struts also? i dont have much money, but i want to lower my car to give it a more agressive look. i will post pics of my car soon.

Coilovers are in a league of there own compared to Springs/Stuts.. True Coilovers are Springs in struts together, but what makes them different is that you can usually set the ride height and handling of it where as springs/struts you have to go with what the factory set it at. If you dont have much money, Get some Eibachs or H & R Springs and some Tokico Blue Struts should do it. Or Get the Tokico Springs/Struts that they sell on ebay for like 400

 

Click the link below your post and read up on the various setups. It a pretty simple decision, it just depends on your budget and choice of drop vs comfort. Once you figure that out, its just a matter of pulling out the credit card.

 

Get some H&R's

 

tell you the truth, if you plan on only lowering it an inch for looks. then i wouldn't get it. most likely you won't be able to tell a difference in the look. but you will be able to tell a difference in ride quality..

 

im in the same situation as you are man. I'm waiting for my upcoming paycheck to get Tokico Illuminas and H&R's and the strut and sway bars. I decided to get this cause where i live its very bumpy and i want a good ride i hate hearing my whole car rumble while hitting a nasty bump. Besides my car looks like its ready for mountain climbing. I need to lower that **** :P

 

While the H&R's have "good ride quality for sports springs", this setup will not compare to your stock suspension. It will be much firmer and hence only more jarring. It's a good setup, but don't expect it to be less harsh than stock. It will be stiffer, harder, and more harsh (goddam that sounds like a bad porno ad...)

If you just want to go about an inch or a little bit more just get the Tein H techs. They shouldn't be that high on eBay.
