Read, then reread. Then read again. http://maxmods.dyndns.org/index.php

ok...i read it..then reread it....then read it again(being sarcastic). i would rather take advice from a few .org'ers than that. please dont be an ***? (im not trying to be a punk. i would just like to hear some legit opinions on the issue.)

p.s. that site doesnt tell me what i SHOULD replace on my 97 maxima that has 101k miles on it.

I wasn't trying to be rude. You just have alot of searching to do before deciding on what to get. Cheap and reliable rarely describe the same thing. If you want something cheap, be prepared to give up some comfort. I have Illuminas/S-techs. It was $600 something for them. Then you'll need to buy new dust boots. Part #'s SB103 and SB108. Thats an extra $60-$70. You also might want to buy new strut mounts, front and rear. Check tirerack for the fronts. I would recommend Ben's rear strut mounts too. They are $75+shipping. And that link outlines most, if not all of your suspension options, as far as springs and struts go. Also, as Akumachan stated, you can find deals on used springs and such in the parts for sale forums. Sorry if I was an ***, and good luck.

its very possible to lower u car of runder 500............i bought S-Techs and AGX for a total of like 350...id the work myself in a few hours at home......coilovers are a spring/strut combo designed together as a system to give u the best possible handling and comfort....they usually are height and dampening adjustable......most of them cost well over 500 dollars....right now the cheapest coilovers are available are Tein Basic's but they are NOT dampening adjustable......they go for 750-up right now.....ur best bet for ride comfort are some H&R's with Illuminas or AGXs that should keep u under 500 dollars even if u get new front mounts and dustboots and bumpstops
