Door Footstep Lights Problem PROBLEM SOLVED
I was changing the door courtesy lights to blue. Now when I shut the door they still light up. You know how when you get in the car and shut the door they go off, my leds in there stay on. I used a resistor on one of the wires comming into the light socket. And I soldered a LED right into the socket the 194 bulb goes into. The fuse is alright. I don't know why this is happening. Now I have RICE all the time even when the door is closed. Help me!
Thanks, Aaron
Thanks, Aaron
sorry to be off topic, but since I can never help anyone out with their LED problems, i think i need to learn more about them. where can i read up on how-to's for wiring and such and LED basics, etc.? yeah, i've checked out google, but does anyone know a really good site off the top of their head? thanks

Come on someone has to know what the problem is.

Perhaps the button that senses when the door is shut (and thus turns the light off) is not working and needs to be replaced? Happened to me.
this was a problem i had back in the day. apparently, it's been covered more than you could say 'clean your tb' and it's happened to a lot of people. took me 6 months to get an answer, but i'll make your wait a bit shorter.
apparently, there's a fuse inherent to the driver's master power window control unit. You blew it while messin with the courtesy light. Easiest fix would be to get a new driver's master window switch unit. they're pretty cheap on ebay now, or you could go through the FS sections.

http://www.the12volt.com
That is a good place to learn some basics.
Once you get some experience you can also go here
http://metku.net/index.html?sect=vie...calc/index_eng
It has a calculator so you can find what type of resistor you need in different situations
