Engine??

How can you trust the mileage that is stated for an engine? It's not like it's got an odometer attached....hehehehe!!! Should you look up the VIN on carfax or something? Then if you ever want to sell the car does swapping engines affect the title of the car?

FYI: I just had a dealership tell me I need a new engine. (Shot one of the spark plugs out of the engine, but that's a different story.) They quoted me $5000 for a used engine with 80k miles installed, but again, that's the dealership.

Oops, that was for a 1996 GLE with 130k miles

There's a section on the title that gets marked if the the odometer reading isn't what the true mileage is....

lol, damn, how many have you " 'ed " so far already ?

ok, now as for the engine. Find one thats cheap and good condition! wtf is there to fret about paying $5000 at the stealership for ? go to car-part.com and get one for much cheaper, if not that then junk yard. end of thread.
