P1441 CODE(long!)

So I got this P1441 code about a month ago.Took it to the mechanic. He said it was the vacuum cut.off valve. He replaced it and the evaporation shut valve.$265.36 for diagnosing cause of CE light, parts, and labor. Two days later, light comes back on. I talk to the mechanic. He says,"bring it back, we'll check it out,it might have been something we did wrong, I won't charge you".I took it back. dropped it off in the morning, picked it up in the evening.
The mechanic says,"sorry, but we didn't have time to check it. we were so busy cuz' its friday. bring it in monday or tuesday".I didn't take it in until this
wednesday.I dropped it off in the morning and went to pick it up in the afternoon. He says,"sorry, you will have to leave your car here and pick it up tomorrow".I leave the car, pick it up next afternoon. He says," we found the problem. its the evaporation purge cylinoid. three of them are bad. two of them in front and one in the back.its going to be real expensive. let me try and find one at the junkyard".Today he told me there are none at the junkyards, it has to be new.I dont know what to make of this.I dont want to put anymore money into it.I already put over a $1000 on mechanical prbolems and the car was bought about 2 months ago. There are just too many bills to pay and I dont feel like getting ripped off!

the best advice i can give you is to take the car from the mechanic and run !!!!
don't let the bastard take you for a ride, if your car drives fine - don't worry about some check engine light, its not like your engine is going jump out of its mounts if you don't fix it right away. Emmision problems are quite common with our car and the worst thing you could do is to let some mechanic work on it.

on top of that the way he has treated you in first place calls for phone call to your local Better Bussines Bureo.

donate $20 so you could use search feature, most of emmision problems have been covered quite in depth, also invest onother $16 in Hayens repair manual and slowly try to learn few things about our car - honestly they are really easy to work on.

you will fix all your problems with your car , and won't get ripped off by shady mechanics.

good luck

Nick.

my CEL has been on for over a month and i havn't bothered to even check the code. it runs and drives fine, gas milage is still great...what do i care? it's just going to be a stupid o2 sensor or something.

i cannot beleive ANY member of this board would take their car to a mechanic to simply check the CEL codes. read the 4th gen stickies and start being a DIY'er

there are people that do believe in that !!!! , I've had this one guy at work who took his jeep to the dealer everytime you forgot to screw his gas cap back on , check engine light came on , and dealer "quickly" fix his problem for around $85

than he wanted to change his own spark plugs and went out to Autozone,
where he bought 5 spark plugs for his 6 cylinder engine !!!!

that guy was a disgracre to man kind....

I talked to the mechanic today. He said he couldn't find the parts I need but that the price would be around $150 for each soleniod more or less. He said he needs to replace 3 of them.
He also said the dealer told him it might be possible to fix the problem by resetting the system. He wants to take a look at it this Saturday.
I don't want to take it in and have him say, "Oh yeah, we found another problem. That will be $500 more". What do you guys think?
