Climate control lights??

Climate control lights??

I just bought a 97 SE recently, and ive noticed at night my climate control buttons dont light up, but the display does and the A/C and and Heating etc works like its supposed to. Is this normal, or is there something messed up with my climate control unit?

I dont have a real answer for your question, but I will say that all my climate lights went out at one point but the rest of the lighting in my center console was fine. This seems to be a common problem though since I recall seeing a few other posts like this so hopefully someone else will chime in since I don't remember the details. Goodluck

hte lights in the ACC are weak. ever sinve I bought my car they were burnt out. I replaced mine with leds.

uhhh, you dont need to buy a new head unit to fix this. you just need new bulbs for hte buttons.

I have the same problem. It's the bulb lights. One went out, then the rest went out soon after. I am going to replace them with LED's, but havent had the time since I wan't to do the whole interior at once.

Yep, I had this problem. It's just the bulbs burned out.

Part number 28529-0P000, there are 4 of them in there. I *strongly* recommend replacing all 4 even if they aren't all burned out, cuz likely the old ones will blow once you put new ones in and turn it on; and the cost of the bulbs is very small.

Replacing is not hard, but time consuming.

1. Pull out the clock/vent piece
2. Pull out shifter trim
3. Remove ashtray
4. Loosen the climate control / stereo combo (or remove if you'd like)
5. Get the climate control unit out separately
6. Replace the bulbs (they're the plastic holder type, come out by half a twist)

Then reassemble in reverse order.

Unless of course you want LEDs...then talk to all these other guys here

As AcEO said, its just the bulbs that need replacing. I got mine from Jerry Rome Nissan - I couldn't find anything at the auto store and the local dealer wanted $6 per bulb

I got all 4 for < $15 shipped. They were ~$3 a piece.

But I don't think JR nissan is doing discounted parts anymore - so contact Dan Tech at Midway Nissan Parts (midwaypartsteam.com) - he has a thread in the group deals section - tell him njmodi sent you and he'll get you excellent discounted prices too.

still kind of a lot. I got a bag of 100 leds for $10 and did my whole interior.

That happened to me before, I think I paid like 2.79 a bulb at westbury nissan and there were 4 i believe.
