crap i put a dent in my underside
well i used a hydraulic jack to jack up my car on the rear passenger side to take of the right/rear tire and now I have a big bump where the rear passenger side floor mat is. I was pretty sure this is an appropriate jack location but it somehow bent and now it looks like i have a basketball hiding under the floor mat. what did i do wrong? i look under the car and it looks like the jack was in the right place. *shrug*
anyways anyone know a good way to get rid of the bump? I tried banging on it with a hammer but that just pissed off the neighbors.

You must have been in a hurry when that happened. You aren't even CLOSE to the jack point....Get that hammer yet?
BTW, where's the orger with MC Hammer as his avatar...Sorry. Just HAD to go there....
Good luck with that, man.

I had bought an 99 Crown Vic Police Interceptor that had the rear passenger floor pushed up like that. I took a big slede hammer and by driving it downward (not using it like a hammer, think of trying tamp down dirt), I pushed most of the dent out in a matter of minutes with the carpet in place. Don't try to use a little hammer - you need weight. Or try to stomp it down with your foot.

thats not true at all... you have most of the weight of the car on a spot that is only supposed to support a few hundred lbs..... most of the parts on this car are metal compared to most new cars that have doors that feel like plastic and crap like that...
bump for some pics of the basketball hiding under your carpet!!!
