Ok, im finally tired of all the creaking from my suspension bolts. i need torque specs for the whole goshdarn thing...

-3 front and 2 rear upper strut mount bolts
-2 front and 1 rear lower strut bolt
-1 bolt that holds the spring perch onto the strut shaft front and back
-4 bolts that hold the brake calipers on in front

whoever gives me these answers is my hero... im breaking down and buying a torque wrench tomorrow to rid myself of the incessant creaking once and for all.

Thanks

All torque values in this post are in foot-pounds.

- 3 front upper strut mount bolts: 29-40
- 2 rear upper strut mount bolts: 12-16
- 2 front strut bolts: 103-117
- 1 rear lower strut bolt: 80-94
- 1 bolt that holds the spring perch onto the strut shaft (front): 43-65
- 1 bolt that holds the spring perch onto the strut shaft (rear): 13-17
- 4 bolts that hold the brake calipers on in front: caliper pin bolts 16-23; torque member fixing bolts 53-72

I'm glad you will buy a torque wrench. It is a useful tool.

Don't be surprised if you check the torque on all these fasteners, discover them to be adequately tight, and find that the unwanted creaking sounds are still there.

Re: Rain on your parade

Good morning Daniel,
Since you are talking about the torque numbers, I would like to ask you one thing .... What is the specs number for the wheels lug nuts? Any answer will greatly appreciated. Warm Regards.

Thai Hoang.

Wheel nut torque

72-87 foot-pounds. I tighten mine to 80 foot-pounds. I believe it is more important to tighten all the wheel nuts equally than to have them at any particular torque.
