how do you know if you have a SE. when i bought the car, my friend said it was an SE. and to the best of his knowledge that's what he thought. when i brought it in to the dealer today, they said they didn't think it was an SE. these were the same people who told me all 98 SE's had abs, and that you can tell by 4 wheel disc brakes being a good indicator of abs and the SE edition. their main reasoning was that the badges were missing. an identical SE on the lot didn't have abs although it did have the SE badge on the side of the door. could they be wrong again? anyone here have a SE without the badges or a good indication i could go by?

An easy way to tell you have an SE is by the color of your face guages...if there white you have an SE and if there black you have a gxe or gle. The only reason the other maxima was badged was cause it was a 99 titanium edition. Those where the only badged SE's besides the 2000's and up.

Raise your hood. Look for a shiny metal identification tag fastened to the
passenger side of firewall. The top row is the Vehicle Identification
Number, starting with J. The second row is model information. The first
five characters are BLHUL. The sixth character is the trim level designator:
E = GXE
G = GLE
V = SE

I have a '99 SE-L. It has SE Limited badge on the sides. The rear Max badge is titanium colored as are the spoke rims. I was told the gauges are also titanium. They look off-white to me.

hmm thats funny, I have all wheel disk brakes and I dont have abs. The best way to tell if you have abs it to just step on the brake and see how far your skid. :S

the best way to see if you have ABS is to start your car and look at the instrument cluster...if an ABS light illuminates, then you have ABS...if not....you're **** out of luck.
