screw driver with a sand pad for those hard to reach places. for the primer thats hard to sand smooth, are you wet sanding? that might help. looking good tho. your making me want to try this project out.
they make a sanding pen that could help. are you letting it dry to the fullest before you start sanding?

no i didnt let it dry all the way so i think i am going to use paint thinner or denatured alcohol to strip ot of primer and then start again cause it looked fine before i started to sand it i will probably paint tommorow
i know you guys like the painted screws..
high temp aluminum duplicolor for valve cover bolts and for spark plug cover screws i used duplicolor chrome paint
valve cover feels like it is going to take forever which sucks cuz i have a custom valve cover being made for me as we speak so i may sell it once it is finished and i am using ZOOP on it so it doesnt get messed up for 1 year or so ...

yea, i know, when you do these 'projects', you tend to want it done right away, but it takes time. try to find a sanding pen for those hard to reach places, it should help. looking good tho.this is one 'mod' where you for sure cant drive your max until its done, imo, i say just take your time if you can. dont rush, it will come out looking nice. later

i know i did f it up i didnt wet sand and nw its rteally bad i tried again today and f**ked it up worse i may need a new cover unless someone here knows how to strip that stuff off i tried paint thinner didnt work too well

just sand down the sparkplug cover until its smooth and paint it, dry sand that... you can sand that off its not a big deal ... start wet sanding the valve cover tho and sand in one direction, try not to sand up and down, but side to side..

or if u have a small filer will work too.. you'll figure something out...
and for the valve cover, best way to wet sand it, just... wet teh sand paper and go at it, might help to do it outside and just have the hose next to u and spray it down so it doesnt dry up

Instead of using paint thinner, try paint remover; it's much harsher. Try to keep the primer soaked for a few minutes; then a bit of rubbing should take it right off. A small regular screwdriver with a soaked rag stretched around the end should be able to get the primer between the letters.

yea, get a spray bottle( best) and just spray every now and then, its so the sand paper doesnt get hot and clump up the primer cause of it, thats your problem. it will work out, keep wet sanding and let dry too.

wait wait what am i supposed to be wet sanding??? the spark plug cover of the valve cover >?? as for the spark plug cover it looks so bad right now i feel like throwing it in the trash. it is clumped and all messed up wish i could just start over it looked beautiful an hour before i tried to sand it then i tried to sand messed up, then tried sand, messed up, then tried to use paint thinner on the promer it did not work and then tried to use thick layer of promer and it its just terrible there is like a 1/2 inch layer of primer all uneven and messed up please someone help me start this over how do i get this stuff off should i just use 60 grit sand paper and sand it back to the end?? if i do that how can i get the primer out of the letters aaaahhh i wish i had just left the promer alone and painted over that it was fine...
